Comments: North-Side Desserts
The "Old-Fashioned" place at Lawrence and Lincoln (Franklin's) is a full menu restaurant, geared toward families. Lots of food grandma made, if grandma was a white, midwestern lady feeding a large family. However, there is a focus on "homemade" fudge and ice creams (this grandma was apparently very busy in the kitchen), which I have sampled without disappointment.

Just a couple of others to add, Zephyr's at Wilson and Ravenswood has a very large dessert selection, it is good not great, but the choices are numerous. A Taste of Heaven at Clark and Balmoral is a dessert and coffee shop that is actually quite good, no ice cream, but cookies, cakes and candies, galore.
