Comments: Tanoshii's sushi (and green tea)

That Korean store could be Chicago Food Corp, at 3333 N. Kimball. Just north of Belmont though, not Lawrence.

There's a good chance the tea was genmai-cha, a Korean green tea with brown rice. It's also referred to as popcorn tea, because sometimes the rice explodes and resembles popcorn.

I agree that it could have been genmai-cha (but I always thought of that as a Japanese tea). You should be able to find that at a bunch of places - My Place for Tea on Belmont carries a lot of excellent green teas and would certainly have it.

At Ricebox on Broadway, I had what the servers referred to as "corn tea" and really enjoyed it. I tried to track it down at a few different Korean markets on Lawrence, but nobody ever knew what I was talking about. Now I wonder if it was really genmai-cha (popcorn tea rather than corn tea)?
