Many of us have the luxury of critiquing our food. We can decide what entree we did or did not enjoy, how the service stacked up, and the overall value of our experience. We can eat anywhere from expensive chef's menus to quaint, more affordable bistros. Millions of people in our country do not have this luxury. For these people, the amount we normally spend on one dinner out can feed their family for weeks.

Thursday, June 3rd is National Hunger Awareness Day and there are many ways to easily participate in Chicago.

  1. Bring two non-perishable food items to any Chipotle for a free burrito.
  2. Print this ticket and bring it to any Dominick's to have 5% of your shopping total donated to the Chicago Food Depository.
  3. Participate in the Chicago Sun-Times/Whole Foods food drive. Bring your non-perishable items to any Whole Foods.
  4. Many more benefit events are planned. Visit http://www.hungerday.org for more info.
