Random facts about EatChicago:
- I started this blog in March 2004 as a resource for people I know who were always asking, "Have you eaten anywhere good lately?" I found myself answering that question often enough that I decided to publish this website.
- I am one person. I am not a company, publisher, or group of people. I have a regular full-time job.
- I live in Chicago. I was raised in Chicago. I was born in Chicago (technically, Skokie, but my parents took me straight home within the city limits after we left the hospital.)
- I don't post about food industry gossip, restaurant openings and closings, the restaurant "scene", places I've never been to, or services I don't use. I rarely visit the hottest or fanciest restaurants in town and I rarely go to restaurants right after they've opened. If you're looking for information about hip, hot, and happening, this is probably the wrong website for you.
- It makes my day to hear from complete strangers who enjoy reading this website. If you're reading and have any comments or suggestions, I'd love to hear from you. Email me at eatchicago@eatchicago.net. Let me know if there are any other facts that should be posted here.
- I also serve as an administrator/moderator of LTHForum.com, a Chicago-oriented food discussion group, where I post quite often.
- This site was designed by Lauren Liss. Twice. If you need a good graphic designer, hire her.
- If I have any potential conflict of interest in a post, I promise to disclose it. This means that if I received any special treatment, freebie, or anything of that nature, I'll mention it.
- I don't display advertising directly from advertisers. I use Google Adsense which displays targeted ads on my pages based on keywords in the page.
