LTHForum.com, Chicago's premiere culinary chat site, recently announced the third round of Great Neighborhood Restaurant (GNR) Awards. A description of these awards from LTHForum:
The Great Neighborhood Restaurants Program is designed to recognize local restaurants that the LTH community considers "great" - in other words, places that provide a food experience that is distinctly "better than the rest". Some of these restaurants might be hole-in-the-wall joints; others might be fancy-pants culinary temples.Twenty-three places have been added to this exclusive collection of restaurants, which now totals sixty-seven (a couple of which no longer exist). No matter where you are in or around Chicago, you aren't that far from a bona fide Great Neighborhood Restaurant.
The recent drought of entries on eatchicago.net is partially due to the upgrading of the LTHForum GNR Map, which shows all of the winners. The map now provides descriptions along with the contact info and link to the relevant thread on LTHForum. Also, the markers are color-coded by the date the restaurant received the award.
Click here to view the map. I hope you enjoy it.
